A class action lawsuit is pending out of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indian claiming Alawsuit class members received less than their fair and adequate percentage of the equity of Anthem Insurance. A $39.60 cash compensation payment was provided to class members for every share of Anthem Insurance. Class members claim that the price was kept artificially lower than it should have been priced resulting in them to loss out on a substantial amount of money. Anthem denies any actions of wrong doing but has agreed to a settlement amount in order to avoid any type of lengthy court battle.
A class member in the WellPoint Anthem Lawsuit Settlement includes anyone in the state of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Connecticut who received cash compensation in connection with the demoralization of Anthem Insurance. The jury trial is scheduled to begin on June 18, 2012. The case is Ormond v. Anthem, Inc., S.D. Ind. Case No. 1:05-cv-01908-TWP-TAB. Class Counsel assigned to the lawsuit includes Eric H.
