A lawsuit was filed against Sketchers claiming they violated California state law by asking customers for their addresses, email addresses and phone numbers at the time of check out to those using a credit card to make a purchase. The settlement provides a $15-off or $20%-off Merchandise Certificate to eligible class members who file timely claim forms. Class members of the Sketchers Store Class Action Lawsuit Settlement include anyone who made a purchase at a California Sketchers store (including Sketchers retail stores, concept stores, factory outlet stores and warehouse stores) between April 22, 2009 and November 11, 2011. The lawsuit is entitled Pomerants v. Sketchers USA and is in the California Superior Court, County of Los Angeles.
All claim forms are due no later than April 19, 2012. A fairness hearing will be held on February 7, 2012 at Department 311 of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, located at the Central Civil West Courthouse, 600 South Commonwealth Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90005.
