If you or someone you know shopped at a Unique, Unique Thrift, Valu Thrift, or Value Village retail store between the dates of April 13, 2010, and April 27, 2012 you might be a class member in the Hupperts v. Apogee Retail, LLC, et al. lawsuit.  The case will be held in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.  The stores mention above are operated in the states of Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, and Virginia but please note you don’t have to be a resident of one of those states to be considered a class member.  The lawsuit itself revolves around customers who received receipts that contained the credit or debit card’s unredacted expiration date.  The court has not decided who is right or worn gin the case but both sides have agreed to a settlement.  All class members will be represented by Thomas J. Lyons, Jr..  He can be reached at Consumer Justice Center, P.A. 367 Commerce Court Vadnais Heights, MN 55127 or by phone at (651) 770-9707.  The proposed settlement is a $10 voucher that can be used at any Unique, Unique Thrift, Valu Thrift, or Value Village retail store.

All claim forms must be postmarked no later than July 31, 2013 in order to receive the settlement voucher.  Claim forms can be printed online and mail to: Apogee Settlement c/o KCC Class Action Services P.O. Box 43139 Providence, RI 02940-3139.  Or download the claim form to your desktop and email it to UniqueThriftSettlement@kccllc.com.

A fairness hearing will be held at Courtroom 3A at the St. Paul Courthouse at 10:00 a.m., on September 30, 2013.  This lawsuit settlement is pretty much like any other case that involves retail receipts that contained private information… nothing to see here and boring.
