A class action lawsuit has been filed against Apple claiming they violated state and federal anti-trust laws… Steve Jobs must be rolling in his grave right now.  The lawsuit is entitled Apple iPod iTunes Antitrust Litigation and will be in the jurisdiction of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.  The lawsuit states that Apple knowingly created a Monopoly with the iTunes Music store.  We are told that Apple conducted software updates sometime in the year 2006 that prevented iPods from playing songs not purchased on iTunes.  This in turn made the price iPod prices higher than they should have been.  Like any good Big Business Apple denies all allegations of wrong doing and states that the 2006 updates were for the good of the product and customer and had no effect on the price of the iPod.
