A class action lawsuit has been filed over claims that AT&T did not provide high speed DSL services to their customers as promised.  The lawsuit is styled Schmidt v. AT&T and SBC Internet Services, Inc. and includes any AT&T DSL customer who paid for service between the dates of March 31, 1994 and January 27, 2012.  The lawsuit revolves around claims that AT&T did not provide high connect speeds to the Internet as promised and this was a breach of contract.  AT&T denies any wrong doing in the case but has agreed to a cash settlement for eligible class members.  The lawsuit also states that AT&T delivering speeds lower than the minimum speeds promised to be delivered to the customer.  Internet speed is everything.  A quick Internet speeds allows a sure to download music quicker and watch shows online without annoying loading times.  Imagine being promised a lighting quick Internet speed only to be delivered speeds are overly slow!  This would be very annoying.

AT&T affliates that are included in this lawsuit are:  Ameritech Interactive Media Services, Inc.; SNET Diversified Group, Inc.; Prodigy Communications Corporation; and Oklahoma Internet Online, SBC Internet Services, Inc., d/b/a AT&T Internet Services; BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc.; Pacific Bell Internet Services; Southwestern Bell Internet Services, Inc..

A class member can file a claim online and obtain a copy of the settlement agreement at the class administrators web portal.  The lawsuit includes residents in the state of Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and Texas.  PLEASE note that all claim MUST be in no later than May 31, 2012.  Benefits received under the settlement terms will depend on the group of benefits you fall into.  After you submit a claim form there is nothing further required from you.  Just sit back and wait to hear from the court.  All questions about the lawsuit should be directed to: Settlement Administrator at P.O.
